The average office pantry is touched by 50-500 people a day. One badly-cleaned coffee machine spout, one expired snack, one improperly-sealed water can becomes a sick-day outbreak.
Monthly audit checklist
- Coffee vending machine: spout cleaned? descaling done this quarter? milk premix within expiry?
- Snack vending machine: no expired items? shelves dusted? UPI scanner functional?
- Water can: brand verified on label? can seal intact? dispenser tap cleaned weekly?
- Pantry counter: food-safe surface cleaner used? no food debris in corners?
- Refrigerator: temperature at or below 4°C? no items past expiry? no smell?
- Microwave: interior wiped daily? no food residue?
- Cutlery / plates: dishwasher or proper washing area?
- Waste segregation: wet / dry / recyclable bins clearly labelled?
Who should run it
Facilities or admin. Not HR. Monthly cadence is enough for most offices; weekly for 500+ person offices.
