Diwali Corporate Gifting in Bangalore — A 2026 Guide That Actually Works
Published 2026-04-19 by Barath A. R.
Every October, a third of Bangalore's admin managers tell me the same thing: "We decided on Diwali gifts last week and now we need 500 hampers by Tuesday." It doesn't have to be chaos. After ten years of running Diwali gifting out of our Hulimavu warehouse for Bengaluru corporates, here is how I'd plan it if it were my office.
Start 45 days before, not 7
Diwali is a compressed window. The same suppliers every vendor is calling. Premium dry fruit pricing moves 15-20% in the last two weeks. Hero hamper boxes get dispatched to the factory in September. If you start September 15 for Diwali gifts, you get the hamper you want at the price you want, delivered on time. If you start October 20, you compromise on one of the three.
Budget by recipient tier, not by absolute number
Bangalore offices typically gift across three tiers:
- Employees: ₹500–₹1,500 per hamper. Dry-fruit box + chocolate + a small branded keepsake (candle, diya set).
- Leadership + key clients: ₹2,500–₹8,000 per hamper. Premium dry fruits, single-estate tea, artisan chocolates, branded gift card.
- Top 5-10 VVIP clients: ₹10,000+ — personalised, brand-coordinated, a curated experience (champagne, branded crystalware, premium apparel).
What goes inside a 2026 Diwali hamper that people actually use
Avoid mithai that expires in 7 days. Avoid items your recipient's kids will throw away. Here's what our Bangalore customers pick year after year because the recipients genuinely love them:
- Premium dry fruits (almonds, pistachios, walnuts, cranberries) in reusable steel/wooden boxes
- Single-estate Darjeeling or Nilgiri tea tin
- Dark chocolate assortment from Indian artisan brands (Mason & Co, Naviluna)
- Scented candles or diffusers — office-appropriate, wife-approved
- A beautiful branded greeting card with your CEO's signature
Delivery logistics in Bangalore during Diwali week
Last year we delivered 3,800 Diwali hampers across Bengaluru for 47 corporate customers. Here's what's learnt: (1) avoid delivery on the two days immediately before Lakshmi Pooja — traffic is brutal and recipients may not be at home; (2) for WFH employees, ship to home addresses via courier 5-7 days ahead; (3) for office deliveries, schedule between 10am-5pm; (4) include recipient name, location, and a photo of the POD option in the admin dashboard so your team can track.
The GST gotcha
Corporate gifting attracts 18% GST in most cases. The hamper contents dictate the HSN and rate. Above ₹50,000 in total spend, e-invoice is mandatory. Make sure your supplier issues the invoice in your legal entity's name with correct GSTIN — otherwise you lose input tax credit. OfficeSmart handles all this automatically; many local vendors don't.
