Snack subscriptions solve a real problem — the recurring admin of deciding, ordering and chasing — and introduce a different one, which is that a fixed monthly box rarely matches a variable monthly office.
Curated, rotating snack boxes delivered monthly — "surprise-and-delight" variety at a fixed per-employee cost.
For the right team size, these work — but they solve the "surprise" problem, not the core pantry supply problem. Most Bangalore offices run a hybrid: bulk core pantry + occasional subscription box for celebrations.
Subscriptions work best in offices with stable, predictable attendance and a preference for spending less time on procurement. They fit poorly where attendance swings week to week, because the box arrives regardless and the mismatch shows up as either waste or shortfall. Hybrid offices in particular tend to need the flexibility to change quantity month to month, and a subscription that cannot do that becomes an irritation quickly.
Compare against what you actually spend now, including the admin time. Subscriptions frequently do not win on unit price and often do win on total effort, and being clear about which of the two you are buying makes the decision straightforward. If the pitch is that it is cheaper per item, check that against your current bulk pricing before believing it.
